90 Years Mikis Theodorakis

The Cultural Organisation of the Municipality of Nea Smirni, in the frame of the 90 years since the birth of the great composer Mikis Theodorakis and the 1^st of May celebrations, organized a concert at the central square of Nea Smirni with free entrance. The majestic work AXION ESTI was executed by the Orchestra Mobile directed by maestro Theodore Orfanidis. With the participation of the famous singer Sakis Rouvas and the choir of DEH-DEDDHE instructed by Kostis Konstantaras. Narrator was the actor George Giannopoulos.

Before the concert the composer’s great offer was acknowledged and he was warmly saluted by the competent person of the Municipality of Nea Smirni. The composer was a resident of Nea Smirni since the age of 13 when with his parents he moved at his uncle’s house located at 39 Smirnis street (now called Plastira).
