HOMMAGE TO KARLHEINZ STOCKHAUSEN 7 December 2014 – Onassis Cultural Centre

On 7 December 2014, the Onassis Cultural Centre is hosting a day-long Tribute to the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, aiming to highlight the multiple aspects of his works.

The visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the composer working their way through the OCC: from the open spaces, which are largely dedicated to works from the composer's middle period, to the Upper Stage, where self-standing works will be performed, and the specially arranged Main Stage, where they can hear electronic music in its authentic quadraphonic versions.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to look at the composer’s scores and books, as well as artefacts connected with his composing, and to view films about his work. Finally two concerts will take place at the Upper Stage with soloists and ensemble which will perform the composer’s most emblematic works.
