HOMMAGE TO LUCIANO BERIO

On 1^st December 2013, the Onassis Cultural Centre is hosting a day-long Tribute to the composer Luciano Berio, one of the most important exponents of the post war modernism, on the occasion of the 10^th anniversary of his death.

The Tribute aims to highlight the multiple aspects of his works.

During the day, the soloists will perform some of his virtuoso solo works, such as the famous Sequenzas and will interact with the audience through their interpretations. At the same time, in a different hall, the public will be able to listen to recorded electroacoustic works and watch screenings of films about the composer. A workshop and presentation of the composers’ cooperation with the famous mezzo-soprano Cathy Berberian, will follow. The Tribute will end with a concert of choral chamber music with solo voices, an anthology of typical works from different stages of the composer’s career.
