International Concert Contest in the frame of the International Veria Guitar Festival

The 12th International Veria Guitar Festival was organized in the cultural center of Arts Hall and the Antoniadios Hall of Arts and Letters, from the 18th to 22nd 2017.

Capstone of the 12th International Veria Guitar Festival, is the Final Circle of the Guitar Concert Contest. The finalists presented the famous guitar concerts of Joaquin Rodrigo, H. Villa-Lobos and M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco in the incomparable acoustic Hall of Arts, with the contribution of the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, under the direction of Andreas Tselikas.

In its concerts, contests, expeditions and lectures, a lot of distinct soloists, such as Zoran Dukic, Daniel Göritz, Craig Ogden, Susana Prieto, Alexis Mouzourakis met with professors, orchestras, music directors, students, new guitarists, manufacturers and generally friends of guitars.

The festival was organized by the Municipality of the city of Veria with the support of the Symphony Orchestra of the Greek R/TV ERT and the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The Artbassador provided the music material of the work CONCIERTO DE ARANJUEZ by Joaquin Rodrigo to the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, on behalf of the Publishing House Schott Music.
