FIDELIO by Ludwig van Beethoven
12 October 2024 THE GREEK RADIO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AT THE ATHENS OLYMPIA MUSIC THEATER "MARIA CALLAS"
Participating in the City of Athens’ tribute “1974 & 1944: Athens celebrates its freedom”, the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA), in collaboration with the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, welcomes the new season, with Ludwig van Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio”.
Under the music direction of conductor K. Terzakis, the Orchestra along with the Greek Radio and the City of Athens chorus and a group of talented lyrical singers will present Beethoven's masterpiece, in honor of Maria Callas' 1944 "Fidelio"performance at the Herodion, shortly before Athen's liberation.
THE ARTBASSADOR provided the Orchestra with the music material of the work, on behalf of the Publishing House Alkor-Bärenreiter.
