27 March 2014 On the occasion of the 40 years from the composition and first presentation of the work and 110 years from the birth of the Nobel prize winner ChileanOn the occasion of the 40 years from the composition and first presentation of the work and 110 years from the birth of the Nobel prize winner Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, the internationally acclaimed mezzo soprano Maria Isabel Vera Rodriguez, from Chile, the baritone Haris Andrianos, the pianist Tatiana Papageorgiou, a 15member orchestra conducted by Lukas Karytinos, present Mikis Theodorakis’ masterpieces of the 20th century, dedicated to the struggle for freedom, Canto General by Pablo Neruda and Romancero Gitano by Frederico Garcia Lorca.
The joined forces of the two poets among the greatest personalities of the 20th century with the great Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, lead to the creation of the masterpieces which are the projection of a global social vision within the spirit and values connecting the peoples of Greece, Spain and Latin America.
