THESSALONIKI STATE ORCHESTRA WITH PENDERECKI & BARTOK WORKS

The work ‘’Concerto for flute and chamber orchestra’’ of the contemporary Polish composer and academic Krzysztof Penderecki, was presented by the Thessaloniki State Orchestra at the 28th of April, in a concert at Thessaloniki Concert Hall.This work is a representative sample of composer’s music, demanding special virtuosity not only by the soloist, but also by string players of the chamber orchestra.

At the same concert, the orchestra also presents another extremely demanding work, the ‘’Concerto for orchestra’’ by Bela Bartok which gives a new meaning in the concept of ‘’Concerto’’. Bartok combines elements from Bach to Sheinberg, by also adding - as always -  elements from the Hungarian traditional music.

Kimbo Ishii was the music director with the participation of Gianis Anisegos as flute soloist in Penderecki’s work.

The Artbassador provided the music material of the work CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA by Bela Bartok, on behalf of the Publishing House Boosey & Hawkes and the music material of the work CONCERTO FOR FLUTE AND CHAMBER ORCHESTRA by Krzysztof Penderecki on behalf of the Publishing House Schott Music.
