MEPHISTO
Repetition of the performances of “MEPHISTO” as from September 26th, 2014
After an extremely successful first round of performances at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus (28th May – 15th June 2014), the NATIONAL THEATRE relocates the performances of “MEPHISTO” (a novel by Klaus Mann in theatrical adaptation by Ariane Mnouchkine) at its CENTRAL STAGE of “ZILLER BUILDING”, located at 22-24, Ag. Konstantinou Str., Athens.
According to Elena Chouzouri (Anagnostis, June 2014), “the “Mephisto” that any of us watched at the beautifully renovated Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, apart from its unquestionable artistic and aesthetic value, looks like it is – unfortunately – politically and above all morally opportune”.
THE ARTBASSADOR has licensed the stage performances of the play on behalf of ROWOHLT VERLAG and SACD, which administer the authors’ rights of Klaus Mann and Ariane Mnouchkine respectively.
