10 January 2025 THE ATHENS STATE ORCHESTRA AT THE ATHENS CONCERT HALLThe Athens State Orchestra in collaboration with the Athens Concert Hall, present a marvelous concert featuring works written in the Soviet Union between 1973 and 1983, by two of the most outstanding Russian composers: Alfred Schnittke & Dmitri Shostakovich.
Under the music direction of the conductor Nikos Vasileiou, the Orchestra and the soloists, Ilias Sdoukos, viola and Maria Katsoura, soprano falcone, will perform the following works:
Alfred Schnittke: Concerto for viola and orchestra
Dmitri Shostakovich: Six poems by Marina Tsvetayeva, for contralto and chamber orchestra, op. 143a
Alfred Schnittke:Suite “Gogol”
