MUSIC MEDITATIONS OF JEAN SIBELIUS
27 April 2017- 28 April 2017 The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presented 2 concerts, dedicated to one of the most important Scandinavian composers Jean Sibelius
The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presented 2 concerts, dedicated to one of the most important Scandinavian composers Jean Sibelius, under the music direction of Esa Heikkila and the participation of Nikos Pittas as violin soloist. The concerts were realized in collaboration with the Finnish Embassy on the 27th and 28th of April 2017 in the Municipal Theatres of Larnaca and of Strovolos.
The program included the following works of Jean Sibelius:
- VIOLIN CONCERTO IN D MINOR OP.47
- VALSE LYRIQUE OP. 96A
- SYMPHONY NO. 5 IN E FLAT MAJOR OP. 82
The Artbassador provided the music material of the work VIOLIN CONCERTO IN D MINOR OP.47 to the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, on behalf of the Publishing House Schott Music and the music material of the works VALSE LYRIQUE OP. 96A and SYMPHONY NO. 5 IN E FLAT MAJOR OP. 82 on behalf of the Publishing House Wilhelm Hansen.
