CORO DOS AMANTES by Tiago Rodrigues

Τhe Portuguese creator and  Artistic director of the "Festival d’Avignon", Tiago Rodrigues, returns at the Onassi Stegi, presenting his debut theatrical work "Coro Dos Amantes"! The performance includes lyrics of the poem "Farewell happy fields" by Manuel Antonio Pina.

The play, a deeply autobiographical work, was written in 2007 and premiered in Portugal seven years later, while in 2020 Rodrigues enriched it with a new chapter. In November 2023, it was staged at the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens, Paris, with Alma Palacios and David Geselson in the two leading roles.

Featuring the form of a fugue and the power of a grand love poem, this work is an ode to love and companionship diving into the heart of the relationship between two people, while they share a suddent life-and-death experience.
