PLETNEV'S RACHMANINOFF
15 February 2023 THE ATHENS STATE ORCHESTRA AT THE ATHENS CONCERT HALL
Ηonoring the 150th birth anniversary of the great composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, the Athens Concert Hall in collaboration with the Athens State Orchestra, present an outstanding concert with the renowned pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev, one of most ideal performers of Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody.
Under the music direction of Lucas Karytinos, the Orchestra and the piano soloist Mikhail Pletnev will present the following works:
- Sergei Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, for Orchestra and piano, Op. 43
- Richard Strauss: A Hero's Life, tone poem, Op. 40
