*SHOSTAKOVITCH YEAR*

2025 marks half a century since the death of Dmitri Shostakovitch, the greatest symphonist of the 20th century!
Honoring the legendary composer, the Athens State Orchestra in collaboration with Athens Concert Hall, will present a series of concerts dedicated to Shostakovitch's unsurpassed work.

Under the music direction of the famous Polish conductor, Michał Nesterowicz, the Orchestra and the soloist Vadim Repin, one of our times’ most important violinists, will perform the following works:

DMITRI SHOSTAKOVICH (1906–1975):  Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 77/99
SERGEI RACHMANINOFF (1873–1943): Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27
