TEMPEST PROJECT by Peter Brook & Marie-Hélène Estienne

Honoring the groundbreaking British director Peter Brook, whose daring works marked the 20th century’s global theatrical scene, the 57th Dimitria Festival in collaboration with National Theatre of Northern Greece presents his last inspired creation “TEMPEST PROJECT”, performed by the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord.

The play, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Tempest, by Peter Brook and his collaborator Marie-Hélène Estienne from Jean-Claude Carrière’s French version, is a work stemming from Brook's multiyear exploration on Shakespeare's enigmatic myth. Α work of deep lyricism which centers on the theme of freedom, a theme that resonates throughout the ages.
