LA MER-CONCERT
16 March 2024 THE CITY OF ATHENS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AT THE ATHENS OLYMPIA MUSIC THEATER "MARIA CALLAS"
Τhe City of Athens Culture, Sports & Youth Organization, OPANDA, in collaboration with the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, presents an extraodinary program of symphonic repertoire, inspired by the orchestral suite "Four sea interludes", from Benjamin Britten’s first successful opera, Peter Grimes.
Under the music direction of the conductor Andreas Tselikas, the Orchestra and the famous cello soloist Emmanuelle Bertrand will perform the following works:
-Benjamin Britten: Four Sea Interludes from the Opera "Peter Grimes", Op. 33A
-Edward Elgar: Cello Concerto in E minor, Op.85
-Jean Sibelius: Symphony No 3 in C major, Op. 52
THE ARTBASSADOR provided the Orchestra with the music material of the above works, on behalf of the Publishing Houses, Boosey & Hawkes UK, Bärenreiter-Verlag and Luck's Music Library, respectively.
