TOD IN VENEDIG by Thomas Mann

At Poreia Theatre, since 28 February!

Looking for artistic inspiration, a distinguished German author travels to Venice, where he finds himself fascinated  by a divinely beautiful, young boy. But as the decaying city is hit by a sinister epidemic, his growing obsession with the boy leads him to a tragic path of moral and physical downfall.

"It is a story of the voluptuousness of doom"

These are the words of Nobel Prize-winning author Thomas Mann, about his 1912 classic, poetic novel “Tod in Venedig”, one of the most famous literary works of the 20th century, which was the inspiration for the Luchino Visconti’s 1971 epic drama film adaptation.
