ZORBAS
The music of famous Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis from the film ZORBAS will be performed on the 28th of September 2013 by the Symphony Orchestra of the Athens Conservatoire at Athens Concert Hall, in its reduced version, with the music material supplied by THE ARTBASSADOR on behalf of SCHOTT MUSIC.
The performance comprises of 13 excerpts from the Suite-Ballet in 23 scenes adapted for a solo alto, mixed chorus and chamber orchestra, adapted by Dimitris Michas.
The Orchestra will be conducted by Nikos Athinaios. The soloist part will be performed by the mezzo soprano Aggeliki Kathariou. The purpose of the concert is to aid the “Young Musicians” programme of the Athens Conservatoire.
