SIKORSKI
Founded in 1935 and initially focussing on dance and light music, Sikorski Music Publishers is today one of the most important music publishers in the German-speaking world.
Thanks to agreements signed with Soviet institutions at the end of the 1950s, the publishing group has since represented the works of the great Soviet and Russian composers, including Dmitri Shostakovich, Serge Prokofieff and Aram Khachaturian, in many Western countries.
Later, leading figures in the contemporary music world such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Alfred Schnittke, Lera Auerbach and Marko Nikodijevic joined the publishing house, which was originally based in Hamburg. Alongside its current focus on representing the interests of contemporary composers, Sikorski is actively engaged with music for children, with the singer-songwriter Rolf Zuckowski helping to shape the publishing programme.
In 2019, the Sikorski publishing group was united with Boosey & Hawkes in Berlin, as a sister company under the Concord umbrella.
