SOCIEDADE PORTUGUESA DE AUTORES-SPA

The "Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores-SPA", was founded in Lisbon, in 1925, by  renowned creators of the time, such as Mário Duarte, Henrique Lopes de Mendonça, Félix Bermudes, to name only a few. The writer Júlio Dantas was chosen as president of the society, which opened its first branch in Porto in the year of its foundation.

The Society is a limited liability cooperative for the Management of Copyright, in accordance with national legislation with the mission to protect and administer creator's rights. Read more....

The SPA represents Portuguese authors from all literary and artistic disciplines, their successors and assignees and foreign creators from 90 countries, via membership and reciprocal representation agreements, accordingly.
